James Cook University (JCU) is seeking a visionary Academic Head, Nursing and Midwifery to lead a vibrant academic community committed to excellence in education, research, and clinical practice.
Based at our cutting-edge clinical teaching facilities in Townsville or Cairns, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership and academic direction for nursing and midwifery programs.
- Drive innovation in curriculum design, teaching, and research.
- Mentor and support academic staff and students.
- Build strong partnerships with healthcare providers, industry, and community organisations.
- Champion outcomes that improve healthcare in regional, rural, and remote communities.
For the first three years, you will also serve as Academic Group Head - Nursing and Midwifery, focusing on developing future academic leaders and strengthening industry engagement and research impact.
About youYou are a passionate clinician and academic leader with:
- A postgraduate qualification and current registration as a Nurse (Division 1) and/or Midwife with AHPRA.
- Proven academic leadership in teaching, research, and service.
- A commitment to excellence in nursing and midwifery education.
- A collaborative mindset and a drive to mentor others and foster innovation.
- A desire to make a meaningful difference through education and research.
