Are you a dedicated and compassionate veterinary nurse looking to join a team that truly values your skills and wellbeing? Kew Vet & Cattery, part of the well-established Hawthorn Group, is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly, high-performing team.

About Us

Kew Vet & Cattery is a vibrant, community-focused practice in Melbourne's inner east. We offer high-quality veterinary services alongside a modern, boutique cat boarding facility. Our clinic is equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical equipment, digital radiography, dental x-rays, in-house lab, and a strong focus on continuing education and high-level patient care.

About The Role

We're looking for a motivated and capable veterinary nurse to join on a full-time basis. This role includes a mix of surgical, medical, hospital, and client care duties. You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working alongside experienced vets and nurses who are passionate about patient care and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting our veterinarians with routine exams and procedures
• Providing surgical and hospital nursing care, including anaesthetic monitoring
• Delivering pre- and post-operative patient care, as well as offering grief support to clients
• Administering medications and preparing treatments as required
• Managing the admission and discharge process for surgical and hospital patients
• Communicating treatment plans and updates to clients
• Performing blood collection, testing, and IV catheter placement
• Assisting with diagnostic imaging (x-rays and ultrasounds)
• Supporting dental care, including scale and polish and performing dental x-rays
• Contributing to day-to-day nursing tasks to support our vets and team in providing the highest standard of patient care
  
  

About You

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years' experience in small animal practice preferred
• Strong clinical skills and confidence in all areas of general practice
• Excellent communication, organisational and multitasking abilities
• Team player with a friendly and positive attitude
• A genuine love for animals and their people
