Your Opportunity

As the Head of Department - Senior Schooling, you will:

• Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives
• Participate in delivering the vision of Early Childhood and State Schools Division
• Develop the quality of teaching and learning
• Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders
  
  

The Head of Department is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.

Your Responsibilities

As the Head of Department - Senior Schooling, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Focus on initiatives that support educational outcomes for students, specifically in the senior phase of learning.
• Manage all intervention VET classes and tutorials, including overall VET coordination, with clear oversight of behaviour and engagement.
• Monitor data walls, including ATAR predictions, QCE attainment, and QCAA data management.
• Manage complex QCAA enrolments.
• Track key attendance data sets, with a focus on year-to-date (YTD), term-to-date (TTD), and weekly trends.
• Line manage the ILO in relation to student management data input and accuracy measures.
• Support the Dean in issuing consequences for students with patterns of truancy, late arrivals to class or school, and early departures.
• Determine actions for at-risk students through data analysis at key junctures, and develop intervention strategies.
• Track student behaviour data with a focus on daily, weekly, and termly patterns, including case-managed students.
• Lead behaviour management, including referrals for proactive programs and supportive measures, goal setting with students, referrals to the support team, and issuing consequences such as suspensions for days 6-10.
• Commit to creating a school-wide culture of wellbeing, engagement, and personal achievement that values diversity and responds to the needs and interests of both students and staff.
