About the role
Toshiba are seeking an experienced and results driven Sales Manager to bring our globally successful UPS product to the Australian and NZ markets. This role will leverage our successful UPS product line from overseas to establish the business here in Australia. The successful candidate will need to build relationships with customers, understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs whilst understanding the key business challenges. Given the rapidly growing nature of target markets like datacenters we are looking for someone who is experienced, a quick learner, and excited to build a new business here in Australia.
This is a 2-year full-time contract role (ideally based in Sydney (Winston Hills)) but with flexible work arrangements available to the right candidate and the potential to go permanent based on the success of the individual in building our market presence. Travel to customer locations can be expected as part of this role, to support the successful delivery of strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and develop business relationships with asset owners that have mission critical power requirements (datacentres, health & manufacturing facilities, etc.) and promote new product and service development to meet their needs.
- Manage, find and develop new UPS sales opportunities in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
- Develop expert knowledge of the Toshiba product offering, developing capabilities in Australia and overseas to implement and continually improve our product offering and value proposition to suit Australia & New Zealand customers.
- Lead the sales and tendering process, including preparation of technical content, cost compilations, negotiation of pricing from factories and negotiating commercial terms.
- Develop relationships with key decision makers within target accounts.
- Build account/relationship maps for target accounts.
Our ideal candidate will possess
- Demonstrated success selling UPS within the Australian/NZ data centre market.
- Established contacts and relationships with potential customers and partners.
- Knowledge of the Hyper-scale Datacenter and Co-location segments.
- Appreciation and understanding of key technologies including UPS and Batteries.
- Ability to navigate large complex organisations.
- Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ideally 10 years' data centre or equivalent electrical technology sales experience.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel interstate and to other project sites.
- An Australian Driver's License (essential).
