About Jacinth-Ambrosia

Located 270 kilometres north of the Port of Thevenard near Ceduna, Jacinth-Ambrosia is the world's largest zircon source and a Tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves. It is the first mining development in the Yellabina Regional Reserve, demonstrating a commitment to high environmental standards and land rehabilitation. The site features a modern camp with amenities including a gym, pool, sports courts, recreation rooms, Wi-Fi, and Foxtel.

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this site-based role is responsible for overseeing engineering and operational maintenance functions, ensuring plant reliability through effective management of assets, projects, and maintenance activities. The role requires providing leadership, technical expertise, and decision-making support across disciplines.

This position follows a 4:3 roster, working Tuesday to Friday, with FIFO options from Adelaide or Ceduna.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the maintenance team and providing technical guidance to meet standards and cost objectives.
  • Supporting problem-solving and decision-making within technical teams.
  • Driving engineering effectiveness, quality, safety, and sustainability in design and construction reviews.
  • Reviewing engineering designs considering operational, maintenance, and construction requirements.
  • Contributing technical input to project reviews and execution strategies.
  • Identifying and managing risks throughout project phases.
  • Maintaining port facilities to prevent supply disruptions and environmental non-compliances.
  • Proactively maintaining assets such as camp facilities, haul roads, and borefields for operational continuity.
  • Mentoring and coaching maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Managing facilities contracts at the site.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience leading maintenance and engineering teams in remote operations.
  • Qualifications in engineering or mechanical/electrical trades, with relevant experience.
  • Mining and resources industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the Mines Act, regulations, technical standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong communication, influencing, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical information across disciplines and advise industry professionals.
  • Effective time management, reporting, and presentation skills.
