Join a service that values safe, compassionate, and person‑centred healthcare. NBMLHD is seeking a practiced Nurse Manager to join our Nursing Administration team. You will play a vital role in the operational management of the Blue Mountains and Springwood Hospitals after hours, collaborating to maintain efficient and effective management of resources and staff.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Relevant tertiary qualification in management and/or extensive post‑graduate clinical and management experience in the acute health care setting
• Leadership and interpersonal skills with motivation, delegation, negotiation and knowledge of clinical evidence‑based acute health assessment, treatment and care
• Proven ability to provide leadership, manage resources and drive change with a commitment to professional development
• Computer literacy including working knowledge of staff scheduling systems HealthRoster
• Understanding of bed management/patient flow objectives in an acute health setting and ability to resolve complex problems using information technology systems to support bed management and patient flow
• Ability to prioritise and manage complex, competing and challenging situations, including clinical and corporate risk
• Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to lead organisational change in patient care

Responsibilities

• Provide operational management of after‑hours nursing services at Blue Mountains and Springwood Hospitals
• Lead and develop nursing staff, optimise resource allocation, and ensure high standards of patient care
• Implement and monitor policies, procedures and bed management strategies to improve patient flow
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain safe, efficient, and person‑centred care
