Destec is a diversified mining contractor with a fast-growing client base, providing ore crushing, screening, and materials handling to the mining industry. We pride ourselves on innovation by designing, constructing, building, maintaining, and operating our own crushing and screening plants for Tier 1 mining sites. Additionally, we provide ore processing and materials handling services to the mining industry across Western Australia.

About The Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Mechanical Fitter to join our workshop team based in Canning Vale. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a valuable trade. This role is for someone who loves variety, as no day is the same in our workshop. This role is a great opportunity to get experience and exposure to working on a wide range of mining equipment and machinery, and also at a later stage of your apprenticeship opportunities to assist on our FIFO mining projects. Our workshop is currently in Canning Vale, but as of September, we will be relocating to a brand-new workshop in Bibra Lake.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
  • A genuine interest in mechanical systems and engineering.
  • A strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.
  • The ability to provide a national police clearance.
  • Current driver's licence, and own transport to get to and from work.
  • Applicants must hold full working rights in Australia.
