APS6 Senior Program Officer

Our Federal Government client is looking for an APS6 Senior Program Officer – Allied Health in Canberra or Sydney with a Baseline clearance.
As an APS Level 6 employee, you would undertake complex work with limited supervision, exercising initiative and judgment in policy interpretation. Your role involves providing detailed technical, professional, and policy advice on complex issues, assisting in strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development. You may engage with the public on sensitive issues and liaise with stakeholders, setting priorities and managing workflows.
Program/Project Management Responsibilities- Support Directors, Assistant Directors, and Senior Project Managers with program management and strategic planning, including end-to-end project delivery.
- Monitor, track, and report on program/project deliverables to meet time, cost, and quality standards.
- Manage risks, mitigation strategies, issues, dependencies, and decisions (RAIDD) in collaboration with leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop and update project schedules with leadership and teams.
- Escalate deviations from plans to leadership within tolerance thresholds.
- Oversee change management processes for programs and projects.
- Manage section finances according to agency frameworks.
- Qualifications in Program and Project Management are desirable.
- Experience with the digital health ecosystem is advantageous.
