About The Role

We're looking for an Analyst to join our Quantitative Modelling team, part of the Market Risk, Credit Models & Insights function within Group Risk.

This role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their expertise in credit risk modelling while contributing to the development of tools and insights that shape decision-making across the bank.

You'll be involved in building and maintaining application and behavioural scorecards, as well as PD, LGD, and EAD models under IFRS9. You'll help design and implement automated dashboards and model monitoring frameworks, working with modern analytics platforms and cloud-based tools (Databricks). Your work will directly support regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and strategic risk initiatives.

This is a hands-on technical role with exposure to enterprise-scale modelling, offering a collaborative environment and opportunities to grow your skills in data science, credit risk modelling, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain credit risk models and scorecards (PD, LGD, EAD)
  • Monitor model performance in line with internal risk policies
  • Respond to regulatory changes and audit findings
  • Identify and resolve data issues in modelling and reporting
  • Maintain credit model management tools and documentation

About You

You're an early-career Analyst with some credit risk experience in credit risk modelling, validation, monitoring or analytics. You bring:
  • A curious, detail-oriented mindset and eagerness to learn
  • A bachelor or postgraduate degree in a technical or analytical discipline (Actuarial Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Econometrics, Applied Statistics, Physics, Engineering, IT etc)
  • A foundation in mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • A genuine interest in data processing, modelling, and visualisation
  • Enthusiasm for modernising modelling workflows by building and migrating tools/processes to a cloud-based analytics platform (Databricks), with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and collaborative development
  • Experience with tools such as SAS, R, Python, SQL, and version control platforms like Git or Bitbucket
  • Exposure to Power BI and cloud environments (e.g. Azure) is a plus
  • Familiarity with IFRS9, Basel, and APRA standards is helpful but not essential.
