We are recruiting for vacancies in Bega and Queanbeyan, and creating a pool for future roles in Goulburn, Yass, Batemans Bay, and Cooma.

What you'll do
  • Work sensitively and respectfully with families, children, and young people
  • Collaborate with other agencies and solve complex problems
  • Help families set goals, address safety concerns, and provide home visits
  • Develop safety plans and conduct risk assessments
  • Manage cases involving high needs and risks
  • Participate in court processes, including document preparation and court attendance
  • Engage in supervision and team meetings

Being an Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker can be challenging, requiring tough decisions to help families create safe, loving homes.

What we're looking for

We seek confident, curious, and resilient individuals. Essential requirements include:

  • A relevant diploma or degree (preferred)
  • Or at least two years' experience with vulnerable children and families
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships
  • Valid driver's license
  • Paid working with children clearance
  • Verification of Aboriginality through either a Confirmation of Aboriginality form or written confirmation from 2-3 Aboriginal organizations, addressing descent, self-identification, and community acceptance
