You will complete a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician over 48 months through a combination of formal training with TAFE NSW and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and our host employer, Shoalhaven City Council - Water Division.
Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist tradesman to perform electrical tasks
- Preventative electrical maintenance: attend breakdowns, fault find, and rectify electrical faults to maintain reliable electrical assets
- Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical multimeter and computer applications
- Install, setup, fault find, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical systems and equipment in building and premises.
- Carry out other duties that are within the limits of apprentice skills, competence and ability as required
This position will commence in early 2026 and will be located in South Nowra.

- Demonstrated ability for high safety standards
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to maintain high standards of work
- Keen and enthusiastic about learning new skills
- Physically capable to complete tasks
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
Mandatory Requirements
- Completed School Certificate
- WHS Construction Induction (White Card)
- Drivers Licence (P1 and above)
- Willingness to undergo standard medical assessment, audiometry, spirometry, and drug and alcohol screening
- Willingness to gain Hepatitis, Tetanus, and 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccinations.
