About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Procurement Specialist to join our team based at Vegemite Way. This is a critical role involving the procurement of dairy ingredients and management of position and price risk. Analysis of suppliers and dairy supply and demand fundamentals will support the team to achieve financial performance targets. The Procurement Specialist will manage select spend categories, support major sourcing projects and actively engage with local and overseas suppliers.
Other responsibilities:
- Support the category management team with tender analytics and price modelling to analyse best bid and price
- Work with Bega's third-party research analysts to forecast future dairy commodity price movements and assist with price risk management activities involving dairy commodity derivatives
- Update applicable supplier pricing in M3/SAP linked to commodity movements on a periodic basis
- Negotiate contracts in collaboration with key technical and legal resources within the broader Bega Group team
- Support quarterly review of strategic suppliers reviewing supplier performance (quality, service DIFOT, innovation, sustainability) and lead process improvements and automation projects related to data management for item master and spend management
About you
- Solid experience with procurement planning, execution and contract management
- A passion for agricultural commodity markets and value creation
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to build strategic work relationships
- Ability to challenge the status quo and thrive in making decisions with ambiguity or minimal information - Be agile, creative, and flexible mindset with energy and drive
- Strong technical skills in Excel, Power BI, SAP and M3 (or similar ERP)
