As our Senior Accounts Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing a range of core financial and operational processes to ensure data integrity, compliance, and timely reporting. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day functions of the finance team. You will process and approve key transactions across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Inventory, while also providing support for international trade documentation and customs liaison.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Accounts Officer, you will:

Reconcile key financial records including bank accounts, A/P accruals, and cash flow forecasts; assist with audits and general journal entries

Oversee and approve Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with approval workflows

Manage international shipping documentation, liaise with customs agents, and review Purchase Order changes based on shipment details

Support inventory control by processing adjustments, Item Receipts, applying landed costs, and assisting with stocktakes as needed

Provide backup for sales invoicing, domestic and international billing, and support international payments via NAB Connect and ANZ Trade platforms

Monitor and manage trade debtors and creditors, maintain accurate customer statements, and deliver monthly AP reporting

About you

To succeed at Elders, you have:

Experience in a similar role, ideally within the agricultural industry

Confidence managing foreign currency transactions and inventory-related financial processes

Proficiency in financial systems (NetSuite preferred) and Microsoft Office suite

Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and financial integrity

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders

A proactive and solution-focused mindset, with the ability to identify process improvements and contribute to operational efficiencies

About the role
