Casual Position Overview

Home Support Workers help our clients with:

  1. Personal care such as showering, grooming, or assistance with dressing.
  2. Social support with companionship or attending community appointments or recreational activities.
  3. Capacity-building activities to assist with learning new skills or increasing independence.
  4. Domestic assistance such as meal preparation, grocery shopping, or light household cleaning and assistance.
  5. Recording attendance through a smartphone application, as well as a summary of tasks completed.
Requirements
  • The ideal candidate can proactively support individuals with unique needs and preferences in their daily living activities.
  • Must be committed to work arrangements that support the physical, psychological, and social needs of clients.
  • Flexible within school hours for casual work.
  • Reliability and strong communication skills are essential for permanent shift rosters.
Home Support Workers Are Required To Have
  • National Police Check (less than a year old if not holding an NDIS Worker Screening Check).
  • Victorian Driver's License.
  • Comprehensively insured, registered, and well-maintained car.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or similar (Aged Care, Disability, Home and Community Care, Personal Assistance).
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or Working with Children Check is advantageous.
Remuneration

Good Works for Australia offers SCHADS award wages, with additional allowances proportional to the hours worked for casual home support workers. Pay includes a base rate for disability and aged care services, plus allowances and reimbursements.

Selection Criteria
  • Registered, road-worthy, and insured vehicle.
  • Availability: Tuesdays (morning to afternoon) at minimum, plus other weekdays.
  • Ability to perform tasks outlined in the position overview.
  • Alignment with company values.
  • Ability to meet compliance and qualification requirements.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
