Fixed-term, part-time position (0.6 FTE) available for 2 years.

Grant Funded Early Career Researcher with qualitative research experience in health service research.

The Adelaide Rural Clinical School supports research, medical education, clinical practice, community engagement, and the development of better prevention and public health policies in rural and remote areas. This position will contribute to the design of qualitative research components, coordinate qualitative data collection from rural clinicians and community members, and contribute to the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of study findings, as well as to the design of the intervention involving pharmacists and rural health staff.

As part of a large NHMRC study, the successful candidate will work with the project coordinator to build relationships with potential participant general practices and local communities in South Australia and other relevant stakeholders. The role will work closely with the study investigators to design, collect, and analyse qualitative data for key sub-studies and, where relevant, contribute to writing publications and external grants. The team involves rural clinicians, GPs, epidemiologists, pharmacists, Aboriginal health researchers, and consumer representatives.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Completion of a PhD in health or medical sciences and/or equivalent qualifications plus experience in conducting qualitative health research.
  • Demonstrated experience in collecting qualitative interview/focus group data in a healthcare setting or medical education.
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with clinicians, healthcare providers, and/or healthcare consumers for research purposes.
  • High-level computing skills, including competency with qualitative analysis software (NVivo), spreadsheets, and data management systems.
  • Experience in contributing to conference abstracts, papers, and publications in research.

Important: The successful candidate should be flexible to travel to rural areas in South Australia to conduct research activities.
