We are actively seeking motivated, passionate, and driven individuals for the role of Female Coach Developer. We are recruiting for two Metro and two Regional (South West and Kalgoorlie) appointments to support the development of Community Australian Rules Coaches in WA. Coaches will have the expectation of attending two training sessions and at least one match per weekend for a total of up to $5000.

THIS APPLICATION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL ALL POSITIONS ARE FILLED.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a mentor to coaches, creating a supportive environment for learning and development.
  • Identify individual coach development needs and tailor coaching strategies accordingly.
  • Attend assigned training sessions and games to observe and support female coaches.
  • Provide immediate feedback to coaches, facilitating discussions that promote continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the delivery of coaching workshops and professional development sessions, where required.
  • Report to WAFC Female and Diverse Coach Coordinator on a fortnightly basis in season.
  • Attend monthly meetings with other coach developers and Female Coach Coordinator.

Key Selection Criteria (Essential and Desirable):

  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and support individuals in a learning environment. (E)
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. (E)
  • Capacity to adapt coaching strategies to suit different learning styles and needs. (E)
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and respectful environment for participants. (E)
  • Availability to attend training sessions, workshops and match days as required. (E)
  • Access to reliable transportation to travel to games and training venues. (E)
  • Experience in delivering workshops or training sessions. (D)
  • Coaching or teaching qualifications in sport, education, or psychology (D).
