OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Mechanic to lead a team on a daily basis and contribute knowledge and skills to support innovative practices as we strive to be an industry leader in fleet maintenance. This role offers strong earning potential and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities- Diagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, repairing, and assembling the fleet while ensuring safety, quality and Busways standards are followed at all times.
- Maintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer's guidelines.
- Ensuring all maintenance work is performed according to company procedures.
- Attend breakdowns and carry out field-related mechanical repairs.
- Communicate safety or maintenance issues effectively and efficiently.
- Adhere to Work, Health & Safety requirements while performing duties.
- Maintain clean workshop practices and report/repair all accident damage as required.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed.
- Hold the relevant trade qualifications (MVTC) essential.
- Certificate III in commercial vehicle mechanical technology or above; consideration for related experience with 4–5 years post-apprenticeship in a similar role will be highly regarded.
- Experience in service and maintenance of vehicles; training provided to develop these skills.
- Adherence to WHS regulations and company policies; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a team on daily maintenance and repair schedules; proactive with continuous improvement.
- Be physically fit; willing to undergo pre-employment medical check and working with children check.
- Australian citizenship, permanent residence or unrestricted working rights in Australia; current Unrestricted Australian drivers licence.
- Licence upgrade opportunities (e.g., MR) or related training may be offered; costs covered by the company.
- Medium Rigid (MR) or above Australian driver's licence.
- Heavy vehicle diesel mechanic experience (training and development provided by us).
- Earning Potential: $100,000+ including reasonable overtime loading and generous allowances.
- Hourly rate: $35.38 - $42.44 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
- Tool Allowance: $17.90 payable weekly.
- Attendance Allowance: $32 payable on rostered hours.
- Annual Leave loading: 17.5%.
- Sign-On Bonus: T&C apply.
- Ongoing Training and Development: Including in-house Heavy Vehicle Brake courses with a registered TAFE teacher.
- Exposure to Advanced Technologies: Vehicles including Euro 5 & 6 technologies.
- Licence Upgrade Opportunities: Upgrade from a car licence to MR; costs covered by the company.
