About our Team

Our Legal team provides a full range of legal advice and services. Responsibilities are within the legal function of a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.

About the Role

Reporting into the Lead Counsel in Singapore, you will be part of a world-class team working in our APAC Region. You will be an experienced and qualified professional in the legal sector and demonstrate mastery of concepts and procedures in a specialist.

Your working location will be in our Sydney office and we have a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts relating to SaaS, data licenses in APAC with focus in Australia and New Zealand.

Provide valuable, practical, relevant, and timely advice to the business

Implement legal, compliance and risk management best practices

Stay current with changes to legislation affecting the business, e.g. CPS, Privacy Act

Research legal issues and evaluate risks

Requirements

LLB, LLM or JD from a recognized university

Admitted to the bar in any common law country (Australia or New Zealand preferred)

At least 5 years' experience in-house and 1 year in a law firm (prior litigation experience preferred).

Well-versed in laws and regulations around contracts, data protection, artificial intelligence, software licensing.

Strong communication skills to explain complex legal issues and risks.

Has experience negotiating SaaS and data contracts
