Industrial Electrical Engineer – Sydney
Join our growing Electrical Engineering team at Beca, delivering innovative electrical solutions across industrial sectors including food & beverage, minerals & metals, forestry, energy & power, water, and defence. You will contribute to high-value projects involving high-voltage power distribution, motor control, automation, protection systems, and industrial electrification to improve reliability, efficiency and performance in complex industrial environments. This role can be based in Melbourne, Newcastle or Sydney.
Responsibilities- Electrical systems design across various electrical systems up to 11 kV, including instrumentation, control system applications, automation design, and motor control centres (MCCs).
- System development such as single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, cable schedules, or instrument loop diagrams.
- Project execution, managing end-to-end delivery from scope definition through commissioning oversight for brownfield and greenfield systems.
- Client engagement, building strong relationships and delivering practical solutions aligned with client operating goals.
- Quality assurance, contributing detailed design reviews to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Leadership potential, mentoring junior engineers and fostering technical collaboration within teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering with experience in one or more of: water/wastewater infrastructure; food & beverage; manufacturing; minerals & metals; forestry; energy/power; or defence.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Experience in heavy industrial environments or related sectors such as water/wastewater infrastructure or manufacturing facilities.
- Strong organisation and communication skills with the ability to drive successful project outcomes.
