Overview

Are you a licensed DZ Driver looking for local runs in Ajax? We have just the opportunity for you.

As a United driver, you will be responsible for transporting client shipments safely and in a timely manner throughout the GTA.

WE ARE HIRING FOR:

  • Monday-Sunday
  • We offer fully paid training and competitive wages
  • Brokers or Corporation Drivers are preferred, Payroll option also available
Driver responsibilities
  • Perform tailgate pick ups and deliveries to customers
  • Conduct inspection of vehicle for safety and mechanical issues
  • Immediately report defects/safety issues/maintenance needs, accidents or violations
  • Document and log work/rest periods in accordance with regulatory requirements and/or company policies
  • Comply with Provincial laws/regulations as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions and shipment manifest
  • Hand bombing when required
Driver qualifications
  • Must have 2-year previous commercial insured driving experience (with DZ license)
  • Possess Valid DZ Driver's License and clean driving record (CVOR and abstract required)
  • Ability to pass Road Test, Physical Abilities Test and Background Check
  • A positive, energetic work ethic and good communication skills are highly preferred
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
  • Must have a clean Drivers Abstract, clear Criminal Background check and Vulnerable Sector Screening Test
  • Local work (no long haul or overnights away from home)
  • Valid DZ or AZ license + a clean driver abstract (minimum 3 years)
  • Knowledgeable at tying down and securing construction equipment onto your vehicles and delivery to construction jobsites in timely and safe matter
  • Candidate must have a clean driving record and possess a valid Canadian driver's license
  • Previous experience in retail customer service or delivery (Minimum 1 year)
  • Shipment Verification – Confirm accurate manifests and delivery instructions
  • Operate Company Equipment – Safely drive tractor-trailers and pump trucks
  • Load and unload items such as billiard tables, game tables, and furniture with care
  • Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to customers across the area
  • Full days may involve drives outside your community to the nearest cancer treatment center
  • Stamina to lift heavy items (100 lbs. or more) repeatedly while climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, walking, etc.
