Full-time / Permanent

Salary: $76,000 – $90,000 (salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience)

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Drive trucks with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport and deliver cargo or materials.
  • Work in remote locations and drive long distances, if necessary.
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles to maintain operational safety, and record any defects.
  • Load and unload cargo with multiple drops.
  • Secure proof of deliveries and return relevant paperwork to the office in a timely manner.
  • Ensure load restraint is performed according to heavy vehicle load restraint guidelines.
  • Maintain radio or telephone contact with the base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new locations.
  • Complete necessary delivery paperwork, including run sheets and work diaries, efficiently.
  • Take orders for new deliveries as required.
  • Maintain truck logs in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Report any incidents encountered on the road to a dispatcher.
  • Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
  • Refuel, clean the truck, and wash windows after each trip.
  • Keep records of materials and products transported.
  • Maintain a log of activities.
  • Keep the truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.
  • Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • AQF Certificate II or III.
  • Valid Australian heavy truck licence.
  • Minimum of 1 year's recent heavy/multi-combination driving experience.
  • Demonstrate sound geographic knowledge of Australia-wide routes.
  • Be highly reliable with a strong focus on safety and customer service, with good communication skills.
  • Fatigue Management Certificate.
  • Able to pass drug and alcohol tests and a pre-employment medical.
  • MSIC Card or willingness to obtain one.
  • Load restraint certificate.
  • Require DG Licence or willingness to obtain one.
