We are building the most innovative grocery store with a focus on doing good.

Bootstrapped to $12 million revenue, 50+ staff, and operations across 3 states with only a team of 3 in the office. This can only be achieved through highly effective systems and people.

Bootstrapped means we've gotten here without any funding, forcing us to do more with less, which is what innovation is all about.

We're now looking for a Director of Strategy & Operations to help lead Funky's next growth chapter. This is your chance to help build Australia's next big success story.

What we're looking for:

Independent operator, someone who knows what to do with limited guidance

Great management skills, someone who can step in, take control and start making things better from day one

Someone who's not afraid to get their hands dirty and knows when to step in and do the job themselves

Also:

Proven experience in fast paced, high output businesses

Sharp up and comer ready for the next challenge

Someone who understands you have to do something yourself once to manage it properly

Strong communicator with natural sales instinct

Local, office based only (no remote work)

Who you'll work with:

Kam (Founder)

Katy (Marketing Director)

What you'll actually do:

Work closely with the warehouse teams to improve operations

Work closely with the delivery teams to improve operations

Simplify and strengthen our operational systems

Setting up new supplier relationships

Build strategies to improve our systems, processes and people

Help Funky thrive

What to expect:

High autonomy

Working directly with the founder (Kam) and COO (Noah)

Helping shape one of Australia's fastest-growing startups

Mostly in-office (Woolloongabba), occasional warehouse visits (Rocklea)

Occasional visits to NSW & VIC

Equity available for the right person, discussion start after 6 months
