We're looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer to join a well-established Australian manufacturer specialising in process control, flow measurement, and automation solutions. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in designing, developing, and supporting embedded systems that integrate with industrial equipment and monitoring solutions.
The RoleMaintain and enhance STM32 firmware across a range of industrial controllers.
Develop and refine TouchGFX-based touchscreen interfaces for field devices.
Integrate with sensors, flowmeters, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
Implement reliable communications (RS485/Modbus, TCP/IP, MQTT/HTTPS, Wi-Fi, Ethernet).
Ensure long-term reliability and continuous improvement of deployed systems.
Collaborate with hardware, production, and backend engineers on complete product delivery.
What You BringCore Skills
Strong proficiency with STM32 microcontrollers and STM32CubeIDE.
C/C++ for real-time applications (FreeRTOS or similar).
Debugging tools: ST-LINK, SWD/JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analysers.
TouchGFX and embedded graphics development.
Connectivity protocols and cloud communications.
Experience in process automation, flow measurement, or instrumentation systems.
Embedded Linux and edge computing exposure.
Secure communications (TLS/SSL, secure boot, firmware signing).
Basic hardware familiarity (schematics, PCB layouts).
Experience
3–5 years in embedded systems engineering.
Proven product delivery with embedded UI/UX.
Background in industrial automation, instrumentation, or control equipment.
