The Team :

Tasmania is part of a nationwide program delivering innovations in the treatment of eating disorders. The Tasmanian Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) is a new service providing integrated specialist care for adults with eating disorders, including Community-Based Intensive Treatment (CBIT) Programs in the North, North West, and South, as well as a statewide Residential Recovery Program (RRP).

We are seeking clinicians interested in eating disorders (no prior experience required), who are innovative and passionate about delivering quality care.

The Role :

As part of the TEDS multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality mental health services aligned with the Mental Health Strategic Plan, Service principles, National Standards, agency policies, legal requirements, and professional competencies.

The Psychologist – Tasmanian Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) will :

  • Provide evidence-based psychological services within a collaborative, multidisciplinary framework.
  • Conduct assessments and deliver therapeutic interventions to individuals with eating disorders and their families or carers.

You will need to :

  • Ensure comprehensive psychological assessments using standardized tests, along with recovery-focused case management and trauma-informed services, including specialized therapies for clients and families.
  • Deliver evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions for clients with complex mental health issues, including developing and implementing specialized treatment programs.
  • Participate actively as a multidisciplinary team member, offering support and consultation as needed.

Details of appointment :

  • Permanent part-time position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, start date as soon as possible.
  • Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.
  • This process may be used to fill similar vacancies for up to 12 months from the date of publication.

Salary : $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (pro-rata), plus 12% superannuation contribution.

  • Salary is in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022.

Salary Packaging :

Eligible employees can access salary packaging benefits, including living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 for meal entertainment per FBT year, among other benefits.

Allowances :

  • Access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and application to the personal upgrade scheme.
