What You Will Be Doing
As a Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will collect blood and other samples, ensuring care and attention, maintaining meticulous records, and liaising with patients, clinic staff, and couriers to deliver timely results.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Collecting blood and non-blood samples with care
- Maintaining accurate records for each patient and sample
- Delivering documentation within specified turnaround times
- Preparing and packaging specimens for transport and testing
- Communicating effectively with customers, staff, and couriers
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
We are seeking experienced Pathology Collectors or those with Cert III in Pathology Collection, healthcare backgrounds, or Registered Nurses seeking regular daytime shifts instead of weekends and overnights. Attributes include:
- Experience or certification in Phlebotomy or Healthcare
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with high empathy
- Organized with strong attention to detail and time management
- Ability to work independently in solo clinics
- Valid driver's license and flexibility to travel between clinics
- Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check
- Legal right to work in Australia (citizen, resident, or valid visa)
Vaccination Requirements
- Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity
- Additional vaccinations may be required based on location and setting
