Overview of the Role:
The Receptionist will report to our EA to the CEO, supporting daily operations and administration for our office, onsite events, and so on.
This is a part-time role, specifically on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:30 am to 3 pm.
This position is based fully onsite at our Brisbane office, 199 Grey St, South Brisbane, QLD 4101.
A non-exhaustive list of responsibilities is outlined below, and a full list will be provided at the first interview stage.
We'll be looking for someone who is self-motivated, and thrives in a high-trust environment to get things done.
Receptionist:- Monitoring the reception desk, greeting visitors and receiving deliveries.
- Maintaining the office, ensuring it is kept tidy, stocked, and handling ad hoc tasks.
- Act as the first point of contact for anything office-related.
- Support the OctoShop, including packaging and shipping: https://shop.octopus.com/
- Assist with calendar coordination and creating meetings for our leaders, with global time-zones and busy schedules.
- Occasionally there are bigger events (either in or out of the office that may require support).
- Overseeing onsite events when our interstate and international team visit throughout the year.
- Searching for venues as part of event planning and coordination.
- Managing email inboxes.
Compensation:
Octopus has an internally open and transparent system for compensation. Any Octonaut can view the compensation for any role at any level. This ensures people doing the same work with the same skill get paid the same.
The compensation for this role is:
Level 1 - Receptionist
AUD $37,500 + Super
This is part-time role is 50% of the salary and hours of a full-time equivalent ($75,000).
Benefits include (50% pro rata) a minimum of 25 days annual leave, up to 10 days of paid sick and carers leave, 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave with flexible return options, and stock options. Learn more.

Interview
[45 Min] Join the hiring manager and a peer from IT Operations, where you'll get to know each other, while exploring your experience, and the role requirements. There will be a mix of role-specific questions, and potentially a simple exercise to understand how you approach tasks.
Office Visit
After a positive interview with the hiring manager, we may organise an in-person meet-and-greet at our office, where you will meet one of your peers from the IT Operations team.
