What You'll Be Doing

  • Formulating and refining food products to improve their quality, performance and suitability for production.
  • Providing technical guidance on appropriate methods for food preservation, processing, packaging, storage and handling.
  • Establishing and reviewing quality control measures and food safety procedures to maintain required production standards.
  • Investigating quality and processing issues and recommending practical solutions to improve product consistency, safety and efficiency.
  • Assessing finished products for taste, flavour, colour, texture, nutritional value and overall product consistency.
  • Reviewing test data and research outcomes to identify opportunities for improving products, processes and production techniques.
  • Maintaining technical documentation including product specifications, testing results, production records and food technology reports.
  • Carrying out laboratory and production trials to assess ingredients, formulations and food processing methods.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in food technology, food product development, food processing or a related role.
  • Sound knowledge of food science, food processing, product development and quality control practices.
  • Ability to conduct food testing, product trials and technical evaluations and interpret results accurately.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production and management teams.
