We are looking for a Principal Science Technician to join our high-performing team at the Tick Fever Centre. The role involves:

  • Overseeing the Quality Management System and ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA).
  • Leading Australian Pesticides and Medicines Authority (APVMA) and NATA audits, ensuring responses are compiled, and actions are completed promptly.
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives and driving innovation.
  • Supporting quality control and vaccine production team leaders, and enhancing team technical capabilities.

Animal Biosecurity and Welfare (ABW) supports BQ's efforts to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from diseases threatening livestock industries, maintaining market access. Our team works together to mitigate biosecurity risks, uphold standards for animal welfare and management, and lead DPI's response to biosecurity emergencies, aligning with the Department's strategic goals.

As our Principal Science Technician, you will provide leadership to the quality control team, ensuring high-quality vaccine production to protect Queensland's biosecurity.

  • Perform routine tasks accurately in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Complete assigned tasks promptly to meet project deliverables.
  • Actively contribute as part of a high-performing team.
