CORONADO GLOBAL RESOURCES is a leading international producer of high-quality Metallurgical Coal. Our global operations are located in two of the world's largest and most productive metallurgical coal basins, the Bowen Basin in Queensland and the Central Appalachian region of the US.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to take ownership of all Dragline and Field Maintenance activities at one of Australia's most significant metallurgical coal operations. This is a key leadership role, offering full accountability and the autonomy to optimise asset reliability, safety performance, and maintenance strategy for long-term success.

About the Role

As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance operations across the mine site. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll lead a skilled team and manage major contractor partnerships to ensure equipment availability meets production and business objectives.

This role offers full P&L accountability for the maintenance function, with the scope to drive innovation, improve reliability, and deliver sustainable performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Deliver maintenance outcomes that achieve equipment availability and reliability targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Oversee maintenance of mobile equipment, Draglines, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices, planning, and execution.

Strategic Asset Management

  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Lead asset lifecycle planning, budgeting, and forecasting for all maintenance activities.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to improve asset reliability and reduce downtime.

People & Performance

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing maintenance teams.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Manage strategic contractor relationships to deliver quality and value.
  • Oversee maintenance contracts and service agreements.
  • Manage budgets, cost controls, and reporting for the maintenance department.
  • Analyse maintenance performance data to identify improvement opportunities.

About You

You are a results-driven leader with a passion for asset reliability and operational excellence. With a proven ability to manage large-scale maintenance operations, you balance technical expertise with strong leadership, commercial acumen, and an unwavering focus on safety.

Key Experience & Qualifications

  • Extensive maintenance management experience in mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mobile equipment and asset management systems.
  • Proven track record in leading high-performing teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Commercial acumen with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant trade qualification or tertiary qualification in Engineering or Maintenance Management (preferred).

Why Join Us?

At Coronado, we're more than just a leading producer of metallurgical coal - we're a team that values people, progress, and community. Whether you're building your career or seeking your next challenge, we offer real opportunities to grow and thrive.

  • Where You Call Home Is Up to You: Whether that's company-paid FIFO from Brisbane, DIDO from the Capricorn Coast (just 2 hours away), or living locally in the friendly and welcoming community of Blackwater. We've got options to make work-life balance achievable, no matter where you're based.
  • Relocation & Housing Support: We'll take care of the logistics - and the cost of your move to Blackwater, so you can focus on settling in. You'll have access to subsidised company housing with options to suit your lifestyle, whether that's camp-style accommodation (with all meals & weekly cleaning included), a private unit, or a house suited to your family.
  • Attractive Package: Receive a competitive salary, performance-based bonus, and 5 weeks of annual leave to support your downtime and personal goals.
  • Career Development: Be part of a global business with strong local roots, where you'll have access to training, mentoring, and internal progression pathways.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Stay well with subsidised gym memberships and a range of health and wellbeing initiatives designed to support your physical and mental health.
