Lead a social work team to provide professional advice and services such as counselling, mediation, advocacy, advisory and information services for schools, students, and families/caregivers to improve students' well-being, achievement, access, and participation.

This is a Department built entirely for children and young people and their communities. Our ultimate goal is to work together to ensure that every child and young person in Tasmania is known, safe, well and learning.

The child is at the centre of everything we do and the way we do it.

Duties

Lead a social work team to provide professional advice and services such as counselling, mediation, advocacy, advisory and information services for schools, students, and families/caregivers to improve students' well-being, achievement, access, and participation.

Period of Appointment

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

7.6 hours per fortnight

Minimum Requirements
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is a full member of AASW or is eligible for membership with the AASW.
  • The Commissioner has determined that the person nominated for this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion, or transfer.
  • A current driver's licence.
