A$220,000.00/yr - A$260,000.00/yr

Salary: $220K - $240K + Super + 10% bonus

About the Role:

As an Alternate Underground Gold Mine Manager, you'll step into a critical leadership position within a high-performing mining operation in Western Australia. This role will see you managing day-to-day underground activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and production targets are achieved. With a focus on strategic planning, contractor management, and technical oversight, you'll play a key role in aligning operations with short and long-term mine plans, while mentoring and developing a skilled technical team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Statutory appointment under WA Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.

• Oversee the daily underground mining operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

• Lead the coordination of production and development activities in line with mine plans.

• Manage contractor performance to meet operational and contractual targets.

• Provide leadership and mentoring to technical and operational staff.

• Develop and implement systems, processes, and operational reports.

• Contribute to the development of budgets and ensure alignment with LOM design.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives across site operations.

About the client:

Our client is a respected name in the Australian mining sector, operating a significant underground project in Western Australia. With a focus on operational excellence, workplace safety, and long-term production goals, they offer a collaborative team culture and an environment that values leadership, accountability, and innovation in underground mining.

Key Criteria:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 10 years' experience in underground development and production of gold mines.

• Extensive knowledge of statutory requirements in underground mining.

• Strong leadership skills and proven contractor management experience.

• High level of proficiency with mine design and scheduling software (Deswik highly regarded).

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership approach.
