About the role:
We're looking for an experienced and influential workforce leader to take on the role of Manager, Talent Acquisition & Executive Management. This is your opportunity to shape how talent is identified, developed, and supported across the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport.
Reporting to the Director, Talent and People Operations, you'll lead a high-performing team of specialists while also playing a hands-on role in delivering exceptional outcomes in talent acquisition, mobility, and executive management.
Collaboration is key—you'll partner with colleagues across People & Culture and with senior leaders across the department to align strategies, share expertise, and deliver consistent, impactful workforce outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee the department's mobility program, guiding employees through placements and transitions while ensuring alignment with sector policies.
- Provide expert advice on executive employment and remuneration, including approvals, role changes, and governance requirements.
- Drive strategic initiatives such as building future-ready talent pools, introducing assessment centres, and strengthening the capability of hiring managers and internal teams.
- Manage external vendor relationships and support organisational change initiatives with practical, innovative workforce solutions.
- Use workforce insights to anticipate challenges and deliver outcomes that strengthen talent across the department.

About you:
You are a highly experienced HR professional with expertise in talent acquisition, mobility programs, and executive management within the NSW Government. You combine strong leadership with a hands-on approach, guiding your team while actively contributing to operational processes and strategic projects.
You bring excellent judgement, a collaborative style, deep understanding of the GSE Act, executive employment frameworks and the ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders.
You are experienced in working across People & Culture teams to deliver consistent workforce outcomes, managing sensitive workforce matters, driving continuous improvement, and building capability across your team and the wider organisation, consistently delivering practical, high-quality results.
