Job Description

Nine's Data, Product & Technology - Enterprise team drives commercial growth and deeper engagement with data-driven solutions. As the Data Governance & Privacy Manager, you will be a vital contributor to our responsible data and AI strategy. Working closely with senior leaders, you will help implement and maintain the critical frameworks that allow for ambitious innovation while upholding the highest ethical standards and robust privacy protections. What you'll do
  • Implement Governance: You'll be hands-on in implementing and maintaining Nine's AI and Data Governance frameworks.
  • Champion Data Integrity: You will support the management of our key data assets, ensuring their quality and integrity are fit for purpose.
  • Drive Privacy Compliance: You will conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, ensuring we meet our obligations under the Privacy Act and the APPs.
  • Manage Risk: You'll help identify and mitigate risks associated with data privacy and the responsible use of AI.
  • Collaborate and Educate: You will partner with teams across the business to embed a 'Privacy-by-Design' culture and contribute to training programs.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in data privacy, data governance, or technology risk.
  • A strong, practical understanding of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
  • Hands-on experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
  • An understanding of data management principles, including data quality and lifecycle management.
  • A solid grasp of AI concepts (like machine learning and generative AI) and their associated privacy challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to translate complex ideas into practical advice.
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience working within the media, entertainment, advertising, or technology industries.
  • Familiarity with data governance roles and cloud platforms (e.g. Google Cloud Platform).
  • Familiarity with emerging AI governance, safety, or ethics frameworks.
