Overview

The Injury Management (IM) team supports DoH business units to ensure effective management of workers' compensation matters, injury management and return to work activities, and to ensure policy, procedures and systems meet compliance with current workers compensation and injury management legislation. The role can be located either in the North or South of Tasmania.

The Role

The Injury Management Coordinator (IMC) is responsible for:

  • Undertaking case management of workers' compensation claims.
  • Facilitating and coordinating return to work programs; undertaking a range of duties associated with operational Injury Management, Work Health and Safety and Wellbeing (WHS&W) in the workplace.
  • Providing support to the IM team to ensure operational compliance with workers compensation legislation.
You will need to

Undertake all duties associated with Injury Management including:

  • Case management of workers compensation claims.
  • Facilitating and coordinating return to work programs.
  • Provide high level advice to managers and employees on injury management issues including compensable and non‑compensable injuries and illnesses.
  • Maintain knowledge and sound understanding of the regulatory environment affecting workers' compensation, WHS and employment within the Agency and represent IM as required.
Details of appointment
  • Two permanent full time, day worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
  • Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.
Salary and benefits

Salary: $98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Completion of, or undertaking, Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management or an equivalent qualification.
