What you'll do :

As Software Development Manager, you will take on a central role in guiding the product development team towards delivering innovative solutions that meet quality standards. Your activities include providing strategic vision and practical guidance in overseeing the design, build, and maintenance of complex software products. You will collaborate with architects, delivery leads, analysts, testers, developers, and other stakeholders to prioritize features against delivery timelines while ensuring regulatory compliance. By championing engineering governance best practices—from code reviews to incident response—you will foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical teams and non-technical executives will be essential as you represent Engineering in leadership forums or customer escalations. Success will be measured by your capacity to inspire high performance within your team and deliver reliable products that positively impact patient care.

• Provide hands-on technical leadership for secure, scalable cloud platforms in healthcare
• Lead cross-functional full-stack development teams through all SDLC stages
• Drive adoption of AI tools and automation to enhance engineering efficiency and platform intelligence
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions
• Foster a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
• Oversee code reviews and uphold high standards across backend, frontend, QA, and DevOps
• Strengthen engineering governance with clear standards for testing, documentation, observability, and incident response
• Collaborate with product leadership to align technical execution with roadmaps and compliance requirements
• Ensure smooth front-end/back-end integration and compliance with TGA and FDA regulations

What you bring :

To succeed, you'll bring senior-level experience in software engineering—ideally in regulated sectors like healthcare or fintech—alongside strong technical and leadership skills. You should have hands-on expertise with modern tech stacks (e.g., React, Node.js, AWS, PostgreSQL), CI/CD, microservices, and security best practices. Your collaboration skills, ability to translate business needs into scalable solutions, and experience fostering inclusive, high-performing teams are crucial. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and AI/ML integration is a strong advantage.

• A degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent qualifications/experience demonstrating deep technical expertise relevant to software development management roles
• A minimum of five years' experience in technical leadership with direct people management within cross-functional teams
• Proven success in scaling teams in regulated industries such as healthcare or fintech where compliance is critical
• Hands-on proficiency with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, CI/CD pipelines)
• Deep understanding of software design principles, including microservices and APIs, with privacy/security standards (ISO27001, HIPAA)
• Experience applying Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban
• Proven track record integrating AI/ML into production systems or supporting data analytics platforms
• Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams and clear communication of complex strategies
