About the team – The Participation Growth team plays a critical role in leading and enabling the sport sector to thrive. We are dedicated to building the capability of sport and the people involved, promoting and supporting inclusive and diverse sporting environments and partnering with sport to create high quality, positive sport experiences for all Australians.

About the role – As a senior member of the Participation Growth team, you will be responsible for managing engagement and investment with National Sport Organisations (NSO), National Sport Organisations for People with Disability (NSOD) and working on strategic, nationally aligned sport participation projects. This position will also play a lead role in the implementation of the National Community Sport Infrastructure Action Plan.

Your work will be guided by Australia's National Sport Participation Strategy, Play Well, and you will work collaboratively internally and across the sector to ensure everyone has a place in sport.

About you –

As a Senior Participation Advisor you will :

  • Support the efficient, appropriate and effective use of Play Well Investment funding allocations to NSOs and NSODs.
  • Assist NSOs and NSODs to develop National Play Well Participation Plans in collaboration with Member Organisations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of innovative products, plans, frameworks and other resources that deliver effective participation outcomes and deliver high quality sport participation experiences for all.

The successful candidate will have :

Significant, demonstrated senior experience in sport, government or a related fieldExperience in creating and managing participation related programs, plans and productsExperience in community sport infrastructureWell developed writing, verbal communication, collaboration and teamwork skillsHighly developed stakeholder management and project development skillsDemonstrated capacity to provide timely, compelling and concise advice to inform executive members and senior management to support decision making

Eligibility

To be eligible for employment with the Australian Sports Commission, it is preferred that applicants are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
