Must have experience in Energy & Utility industry6 months CONTRACT with potential extensionHybrid working arrangement (2-3 days a week on-site in Melbourne CBD)Daily rate : Open to discuss ROLE OVERVIEWWe are seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead the testing workstream across a suite of reform initiatives within the energy sector. These multi-disciplinary projects involve regulatory compliance, system integration, tariff reform, and emissions reduction initiatives across both gas and electricity domains. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing test planning, execution, and assurance for technology and process changes arising from regulatory and market reform projects.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Develop and manage the end-to-end Test Strategy and Plan across multiple reform projects, aligning with business, regulatory, and technical objectives.
  • Lead a cross-functional testing team, coordinating System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, solution architects, vendors, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure test coverage and traceability.
  • Define test entry / exit criteria, manage test environments, and ensure appropriate data provisioning.
  • Monitor and report on test progress, defects, and risks, escalating critical issues to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Support testing activities related to AEMO market reform changes, access arrangement proposals, and renewable gas and smart meter system enhancements.
  • Work closely with compliance teams to ensure testing aligns with Australian Energy Regulator (AER) and industry requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing standards, tools, and practices, with a focus on agile and hybrid delivery environments.

MORE ABOUT YOU Proven experience as a Test Manager in energy, utilities, or regulated industry environments.Strong understanding of testing methodologies, including Agile, hybrid Agile-Waterfall, and test automation frameworks.Experience testing complex systems involving network infrastructure, smart metering, tariff engines, and regulatory reporting.Familiarity with energy market operations, gas / electricity network planning, and AEMO reforms is highly desirable.Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and vendor management skills.Excellent documentation, communication, and reporting capabilities.
