The Head of House has the primary responsibility of the care, wellbeing, academic progress, and guidance of the students in their House.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Full-Time Head of House – Juniorfor a 12 month termwith an ongoing role as a full time teacher, to join our school community, commencing 27 January 2026. A new POL structure will be advertisedfrom 2027 onwards.

The Head of House will encourage the development of a strong and resilient community by using a positive behaviour framework. The maintenance of a safe learning environment where appropriate behaviours are modelled and promoted is of the highest priority. The Head of House is the central figure in the lines of communication between staff, students, and parents.
All members of staff are expected to support the school's Catholic ethos, traditions, and practices, and always apply these to their work.

The Position

  • Classification: T1 to T2 range depending on qualifications - $79,589 to $118,063 CEMEA 2022
  • FTE/ Hours per fortnight: 1 FTE -76 hours
  • Employment Status: Ongoing
  • Location: Notre Dame College Knight St or Emmaus Campus, Shepparton
  • Head of House Tenure: 27 January 2026 to 26 January 2027

You will:

  • Be a registered teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Have a commitment to Catholic Education and the Catholic Identity
  • Plan, prepare and deliver quality and effective teaching and learning programs which are consistent with the Australian Professional standards for teachers: the College Learning and Teaching Charter, College course outlines, curriculum policies, work programs and educational trends
  • Support students through interaction with them in a variety of settings and through the active development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.

In 2025, a diocesan first, a comprehensive and exciting new learning and teaching program was simultaneously launched across over 50 Catholic schools in the Sandhurst Diocese.

Magnify Sandhurst will be introduced across 2025 to 2027, with each phase designed to bring measurable improvements in each learning environment.

Magnify Sandhurst is set to transform learning for students with more specific and explicit teaching practices, bringing greater consistency and a more predictable and effective education experience for all students.
