Overview

Are you passionate about making a difference in mental health? Join QCS as a Senior Mental Health Clinician and help shape a growing multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists. You will deliver high-level clinical services in correctional centres, managing complex assessments and interventions to support wellbeing and safety. Key responsibilities include applying behaviour change models, developing support plans, mentoring team members, and maintaining professional development.

The Senior Mental Health Clinician is a senior member of the multidisciplinary team delivering mental health services within the correctional centres. This role provides high-level clinical services that are complex in nature, including assessments and interventions that promote mental health, wellbeing and safety for adults in our centres. You will manage a diverse caseload, maintain accurate case notes and progress reports, and demonstrate your clinical knowledge, understanding and skills to support service delivery.

With Clinical Frameworks to Guide Decisions and Activities, you will be able to operate independently to provide advice, undertake clinical consultations, and problem solve diverse and often complicated situations.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge of theories, models and research related to behaviour change techniques
  • Develop and/or review behavioural support management plans
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to promote a supportive environment while developing critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills within the team
  • Be accountable for your own professional development, maintaining clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities
