Join Our Team as an Experienced HR/MR Delivery Driver -Northern Beaches

We're looking for skilled HR/MR Delivery Drivers to join our team in the Northern Beaches. We offer a competitive hourly rate between $32 and $40 per hour, depending on your experience and licence type (HR licence drivers are at the higher end of the range). Enjoy 42.5 hours per week and a supportive, dynamic work environment.

As an employee, you'll also have the opportunity to purchase goods from H&G at a reduced staff discount price, and to complete a certificate in Driving Operations.

Job Overview

The Delivery Driver is the professional customer service 'face' of H&G and operates vehicles (cars, vans, trucks) to collect and transport goods from one location to another within the Sydney metro.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport goods to and from a variety of locations, ensuring punctual delivery and optimal condition on arrival.
  • Load and unload goods.
  • Drive at all times in a legal and professional manner, keeping in mind the reputation of H&G.
  • Provide professional customer service at all times.
  • Provide helpful service to satisfy customer's delivery.
  • Complete and check all loads and related paperwork correctly, ensuring procedures are followed as instructed.
  • Ensure safe storage of loads and compliance with Chain of Responsibility obligations.
  • Maintain security over loads from theft and damage.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order, reporting any issues as needed.
  • Report all damage or accidents to local manager or supervisor.
  • Adhere to safe work practices.
  • Co-operate with other departments in the preparation and delivery of orders.
  • Follow all reasonable directions given by the teamlead, assistant manager, and adhere to company policies and procedures to your best ability.
  • Undertake self-assessment on personal safety to adhere to assigned lifting requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Goods delivered on time in full – KPI: assigned deliveries achieved or exceeded.
  • Deliveries per day: KPI: xx to xx.
  • External customer feedback: positive.
  • Internal customer feedback: positive.

Key Requirements

  • Team player, prepared to co-operate with all work colleagues.
  • Dedicated to excellence in customer service.
  • Positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Valid licence, of a class suitable for the needs of the position (eg, Standard, light rigid, medium rigid, heavy rigid, or forklift)
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating the assigned vehicle.
  • Completion of driver operations certificate desirable.
