Karratha Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Mathematics Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character-limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

About Our SchoolAt Karratha SHS we empower every student to embrace opportunities, build resilience, and contribute positively to society. Karratha SHS is an independent public school for students from Years 7 to 12. We serve a diverse population of approximately 1270 students who live in Karratha and surrounding towns. The RoleSuitable applicants should demonstrate strong professional knowledge, effective teaching practices, and relevant experience to deliver an engaging secondary school Mathematics curriculum. Teaching practices must align with the Whole School Instructional Model to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all learning areas. The ability to analyse and apply data from assessments (NAPLAN and OLNA) to inform planning, instruction and assessment is highly desirable. Applicants should be dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment with meaningful learning opportunities that empower students to reach their potential. Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with students, staff and the wider school community are required. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to professional growth by challenging traditional methods, embracing innovation and reflecting on their practice to improve outcomes.

Mobility AppointmentsMobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers: Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school may elect to undertake a 3-year mobility appointment with a right of return to their substantive position. At the end of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers may return to their substantive role or transfer permanently to this school. Check eligibility on IKON. Note: South West teachers are not eligible to move to another South West school under this trial.
