Role Overview
As a Senior Social Worker, your responsibilities include:
- Utilizing the Key Assets Practice framework along with evidence-based programs to work with clients, helping them identify issues, set goals, and build their capacity to ensure the safety of children and young people.
- Providing supervision and coaching to team members and new staff, in line with practice guidelines and organizational policies.
- Supporting foster carers through regular visits, including unannounced visits, and maintaining detailed records.
- Promoting culturally responsive services for First Nations children, young people, and carers, encouraging family-led decision-making.
- Prioritizing child protection and welfare in all activities, ensuring children's opinions are considered in decisions affecting their lives.
- Supporting and coaching foster carers to enhance their skills and confidence, following the Key Assets Practice Framework and relevant legislation and policies.
The position offers a salary of $100, $105,340.56 per annum, plus superannuation, a vehicle and fuel card, and salary packaging options up to $15,900 annually. It is a full-time, ongoing role, with flexibility to work across the Families for Life and Foster Care Programs.
Candidate Profile
To succeed, you should have:
- A Degree or Master's in Social Work and eligibility for AASW registration
- Experience working with children, young people, and families
- Skills in developing, implementing, and reviewing client plans through comprehensive assessments
- Knowledge of Child Protection Legislation and related government initiatives in Queensland
- Resilience, creativity, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
