About the role:

The Oceania Operations division is seeking a business unit risk manager to support effective management of operational risk/operational resilience, working in collaboration with our second line-of-defence teams.

What you'll be doing:

The incumbent will own the implementation of the Operations division's risk strategy and drive effective management and governance in Oceania Operations by supporting risk management activities including:

• Support all operational risk management activities in the business line (e.g., RCSA, Incident Management, Issue Management, Controls Assurance, Risk Governance etc.)
• Drive implementation and changes to any operational risk/resilience requirements to ensure robust management.
• Work with the unit to ensure that the control environment is effective and in line with the stated risk appetite.
• Demonstrate and cultivate a risk aware culture in the business line.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with the frontline business and other functions across the bank to work through risk issues and to ensure the efficient running of Operations processes.
• Ensure that the team is operating to the standards of the internal bank policies, procedures are kept updated, relevant external requirements and regulatory reporting obligations are met.
• Influence decision-making at senior levels, ensuring risk considerations are embedded into the medium-term business plan and strategic planning initiatives.
  
  

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will have 10 + years' financial services experience within risk management, with experience in Operations processes including payments and transaction experience.

In additional to technical skills, this role also requires:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with different teams and build strong relationships
• Ability to influence decision-making, clearly challenge process and decisions, and set new standards to ensure best practices are always followed
• High motivation and a willingness to get involved
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
