Daily Responsibilities
  • Scales and combines ingredients using power equipment to prepare various types of baked goods. Rolls, cuts, and shapes products.
  • Uses various kitchen instruments when preparing scratch and frozen items. Dates ingredients, products, and stores for future use.
  • Uses and monitors proof-box, setting temperature, humidity, and timers.
  • Uses and monitors gas-fired rack ovens, setting temperature and timers. Removes racks of baked products from oven for cooling. Follows production sheets for order of production.
  • Follows Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines for proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment. Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Bakery Department.
  • Assists with other bakery duties as needed and supports other departments within the warehouse as necessary.
  • Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.
Experience and Certifications

Bakery or comparable experience.

Level 1 Food Safety Certification; Hazardous Materials Training – Module 1 (within 30 days). Bakery trade qualifications preferred.

Non-Essential Functions and Tasks
  • Assists other areas in the department as necessary.
  • Operates mechanical trash compactor / cardboard baler.

Requirements: Must be 18 years or older.
