Overview

Join to apply for the Senior Participation Coordinator role at the Department of Education, Western Australia.

The North Metropolitan Education Region covers more than 250 public schools across the north metropolitan area from Cottesloe to Lancelin and east to Wooroloo. The role is a fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP up until the end of December 2027. The Senior Participation Coordinator will manage the Engagement and Transition program and other early intervention programs, supporting at-risk or disengaged Year 7 and Year 10 students.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Engagement and Transition program and other early intervention programs within the Region.
  • Train, mentor and support Engagement and Transition Coordinators; monitor case management and may perform performance management of team members.
  • Develop and implement operational management procedures and strategies for training or suitable employment for compulsory school-aged students at risk.
  • Monitor and report outcomes to stakeholder schools and the Region.
  • Collect, analyse and report data in a timely, accurate, and confidential manner.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
Qualifications
  • It is highly desirable to hold a nationally recognised qualification in human services, youth work or a related area.

Eligibility
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number before you start.
  • Hold a nationally recognised qualification in human services, youth work or a related area.
  • Hold a current 'C' class driver's licence.
  • Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • Undertake travel including overnight stays in non-metropolitan locations, as required.
  • Undertake travel in small aeroplanes to remote locations, as required.

    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and clarify issues.
    • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and teamwork across diverse backgrounds.
