Taree High School, situated in the Manning Valley, educates a diverse community of 680 students, including around 22% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Our curriculum and facilities support a wide range of interests and pathways, from the arts and sciences to vocational training and beyond. We are committed to the Connected Communities Strategy, embedding Biripi culture and Gathang language into our learning environment. Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach in the Supported Learning Environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement high-quality, differentiated learning programs for students with intellectual and physical disability, autism, and complex learning profiles, enabling each learner to achieve success.
  • Ability to create safe, inclusive, and engaging classrooms that foster positive relationships, wellbeing, and belonging for vulnerable learners.
  • Highly developed collaboration and communication skills to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with support staff, specialists, families, and community partners to maximise student outcomes.
  • Commitment to cultural responsiveness and inclusive practice, with understanding of Aboriginal education and the capacity to embed cultural respect and community connections into teaching at Taree High School.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you must commence the application process alongside applying for this opportunity.
