About the role and team

We have an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with 2 - 6 years post-admission experience to join our Melbourne Corporate & Commercial team, working alongside partners and senior lawyers in a well-established team. Our Melbourne team has over 30 staff members including 9 partners. The role also offers opportunities to collaborate with our teams in Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, and Perth.

This is a hands-on corporate & commercial role with significant learning and development opportunities, working with a diverse range of local and international clients, including companies, business owners, private investors, and stakeholders.

You will be responsible for :

  • Drafting and negotiating transaction documents
  • Handling various matters related to corporate / M&A transactions, including due diligence, legal analysis, and regulatory issues
  • Liaising with clients and advisers across different specialties within our firm
  • Completing transactions efficiently
  • Participating in other commercial transactions such as capital raisings, joint ventures, and equity structures
  • Managing other commercial contracts as needed

About you

You will ideally have the following skills and experience :

  • 2 - 6 years post-admission experience in corporate & commercial law
  • Experience in M&A transactions
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and attention to detail skills
  • Effective organization and prioritization abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Technical excellence and motivation
