Overview

Whittens is an Australian owned and operated multidisciplinary civil construction company with over 22 years of experience across Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory and South Australia. The role is for a FIFO Project Civil Engineer on a large infrastructure project in remote New South Wales, with a 2/1 FIFO roster from Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.

The role reports to the Project Manager and involves working on complex FRP and associated civil works.

Responsibilities
  • Interpreting specifications, drafting and maintaining drawings and plans, construction methods and procedures
  • Understanding the scope of work, specifications, work plans and drawings and advising on engineering solutions to meet project needs and budget
  • Creating work programs for allocated work packages including large concrete pours
  • Logistical management of equipment and materials and ensuring compliance
  • Identifying variations in work packages and submitting for review
  • Planning and cost control
  • Preparing and reviewing internal ITPs, forms and checklists for client approval
About You / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • At least 5 years postgraduate experience with large FRP infrastructure projects
  • Experience with Underground tunnelling projects is highly regarded
  • Experience with planning software and MS Suite
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
