This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.
To provide a professional speech pathology service to adult inpatients and outpatients and their family/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients. As a senior clinician, the speech pathologist is required to demonstrate clinical specialty in head and neck and oncology, provide supervision to allocated staff and provide clinical leadership within the team.
About You- You have current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- You possess recent clinical experience within the Emergency Department clinical speciality and a commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice.
- You have demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and sound written verbal and interpersonal skills.
The speech pathologist will work to deliver high quality care in a dynamic team environment and work closely with interdisciplinary colleagues and senior managers to ensure the development and delivery of effective and pro-active speech pathology services. The speech pathologist will be active in the areas of service development, service evaluation and staff and student teaching.
The position may be rostered across any of the CCLHD facilities and may include weekend/after-hour shifts.
