This is a great opportunity for qualified teachers who enjoy swimming, love working with children, and want to teach water safety skills.

The Role

As a Swimming Teacher, you will teach swimming and water safety to grow our swim program. This is a casual role requiring work mornings, evenings, and weekends. You should be empathetic to the needs of the classes.

You will need a passion for swimming, making children safer around water, and excellent communication skills. You should be energetic, outgoing, and fun, with a flair for working with children. Outstanding customer service is essential to ensure maximum benefit and enjoyment for members, patrons, and parents.

Successful applicants will demonstrate effective communication with students of diverse ages, abilities, cultures, and needs.

Skills & Attributes
  • Energetic, innovative, and decisive teaching style
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of OHS and public safety applications
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends; empathetic to class needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current First Aid (Level 2) & CPR Certificate
  • Blue Card: Working With Children Check & National Police Check
  • Current Swim Certificate - Teaching Swimming and Water Safety
  • Desirable: Swim Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics
  • Desirable: Swim Teacher of Aquatics Access and Inclusion
  • Previous experience is not essential but highly regarded
